How to reach us and what to expect.

How do you get help from Hubbard House? For most, the first step is a phone call to the hotline. Here is a general overview of how this works for most survivors seeking services from Hubbard House:

  • A caller has concerns about what is happening at home, so s/he finds a safe place and a safe phone and calls our 24/7 Domestic Violence Hotline: (904) 354-3114 or texts (904) 210-3698. The phone is answered by a trained advocate.

  • The advocate listens to understand the caller’s situation, so s/he can determine how Hubbard House can help. The advocate also answers the caller’s questions.

  • Before the call ends, the caller better understands available options. Sometimes this means coming into shelter and receiving services. Other times, a caller has safe shelter elsewhere but needs help obtaining an injunction for protection, so a referral is made. Other callers choose to remain at home with their partners, so the advocate helps them to create safety plans to enhance personal security.
