Pets are family, too, and we understand how important it is to consider their safety. Abusers often harm pets as a tactic to control you. This can look like:

  • Physically hurting or threatening to hurt your pet
  • Denying access to vet care
  • Keeping your name off of important pet documentation
  • Withholding food from your pet

When you call Hubbard House at our hotline number, (904) 354-3114, please let our advocate know that you have pets. They will help you plan for their safety.

If you’re coming into shelter, Hubbard House may be able to arrange to board your pets in a safe place for free. We’ll make every effort to ensure your fuzzy family members are happy, healthy, and safe during your journey to safety.
