EVERY RELATIONSHIP VIOLENCE-FREE

Group volunteer opportunities

Group volunteer opportunities are a great way to engage with Hubbard House and connect with your friends or colleagues.

Examples of group volunteer opportunities: cleaning in shelter, making dinner for residents, organizing closets, helping the Thrift Store, helping at one of Hubbard House’s signature events, hosting an off-site collection drive or fundraiser and projects based on current needs.

Who can volunteer? Anyone meeting our age requirements and committed to our mission! All volunteers must be 16 years old or older. If volunteering in Shelter, you must be 18 years or older.

When can we volunteer? Weekdays are preferred as we have limited staff available on the weekend. Occasionally, we have Saturday group volunteer opportunities for specific projects, such as cleaning. We are unable to accommodate groups on Sundays and holidays. Please schedule at least one month in advance.

How many people can Hubbard House accommodate? Hubbard House can accommodate 15 people or less for group volunteer projects. Exceptions include our signature events and hosting an off-site collection drive or fundraiser.

Do you have a budget for volunteer projects? Hubbard House is generously supported by the community and our resources go directly towards providing shelter and wrap-around services to victims of domestic violence and their children. All groups are asked to provide all materials needed for their volunteer project.

How do I get started? Please send an email to volunteer@hubbardhouse.org that includes whether you have a specific project in mind, your timeframe for volunteering and the number of people you anticipate participating in your project. Please provide at least a month’s notice, if possible, and give us one week to check schedules and verify staff availability.
