Emergency Shelter
Hubbard House provides confidential temporary housing for female and male victims of domestic violence and their children and any adult dependents. The facility has 17 bedrooms and 72 beds, and provides 24-hour staffing with a professionally trained team to assist residents with physical and emotional support, including food, personal items, first aid, and clothing.

Hotline (800) 500-1119
The Hubbard House hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is an invaluable source for information, support, and referrals for victims of domestic violence or those concerned for a friend or family member in an abusive situation. The hotline is also the main referral source for clients coming into the emergency shelter.

Children’s Counseling
Children’s counseling is offered to shelter residents or children involved in HARK who need additional counseling to help sort out their feelings. Individual counseling is offered to children between the ages of 3-17.

Court Advocacy
Hubbard House advocates help victims of domestic violence obtain Injunctions for Protection and assist with other legal services. While they are not attorneys, they help victims understand the legal process, provide emotional support, assist with safety planning and provide referrals. This service is available to shelter residents and non-residents. For more information, call 904-354-3114.

First Step Programs
Hubbard House’s batterers’ intervention program, First Step, is a 26-week program designed to empower abusers (men and women) to examine their own beliefs and to hold them accountable for their actions. Call 904-354-0076 ext. 201/283 for more information.

Helping At Risk Kids (HARK)
HARK is a program that offers age appropriate educational support on a variety of issues with children aged 3-17 who have witnessed abuse. For more information, call 904-354-0076 ext. 318.

Intimate Violence Enhanced Services Team (INVEST)
INVEST advocates provide intensive case management, assistance and counseling to victims identified to be in highly lethal situations. INVEST is a collaboration between Hubbard House, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the city to help victims, monitor batterers, provide education and create awareness about domestic violence. Professional Training and Speakers Bureau
Hubbard House conducts domestic violence training for city employees, law enforcement, businesses and universities. Additionally, Hubbard House is a provider of a specific certification for domestic violence training for nurses and mental health care providers. For more information, call 904-354-0076 ext. 240.

Relationship Abuse Prevention (RAP) and Prevention Advocacy Therapeutic Help (PATH)
Located in full-service schools, RAP is a curriculum-based program approved by the Duval County Health Advisory Committee that informs middle and high school students of the warning signs of potentially abusive relationships. PATH is a program designed to help, students avoid unhealthy, unsafe and potentially harmful relationships by educating them on violence-free conflict resolution, anger management and the characteristics of potentially abusive relationships. Support Groups/Advocacy
Support groups/advocacy focus on legal issues, safety and emotional well being for victims who recently left violent relationships, victims transitioning from shelter and victims currently in violent relationships. It is not necessary to be in shelter to receive services. For more information, call 904-354-3114.

Therapeutic Child Care
Infants, toddlers and preschool residents at the shelter are enrolled in a licensed therapeutic program that teaches children of domestic violence alternatives to violent behavior. This unique six-week program strives to end the cycle of domestic violence by helping children overcome the emotionally and physically brutalizing effects of witnessing or experiencing battering and abuse.
