OUTREACH PROGRAM PARTICPANTS – These initiatives benefit victims served by our outreach programs. Program staff selects participating program participants based on the need of the family.

THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKET PROGRAM
With your help, we provide families with Thanksgiving food baskets that include turkeys (via gift cards) and all the fixings associated with this great American tradition. A grocery list is attached. In order to promote fairness and continuity for our program participants, please get only those items on the grocery list. Please note that we cannot handle perishable items (frozen, needing refrigeration). We ask you to package the feast in a box or brown grocery bags.

Contact and Delivery Information
  • For all food donation drives, please contact Hubbard House to schedule a delivery appointment in advance at 354-0076, ext. 652 or email holidays@hubbardhouse.org. Directions will be provided at this time.

HOLIDAY ADOPT-A-FAMILY PROGRAM
Donors contribute gifts for an entire family. With your generosity, we can fulfill the holiday wishes of up to 40 families. We provide a specific family profile detailing family members’ needs, wants, and toy requests. Clothing and shoe sizes are included. We also include a general, age-appropriate Gift Wish List. We recommend this option for our business partners due to the higher cost of shopping for a family. It is estimated that it will cost approximately $75-$100 per person in the family. We ask that your organization fulfill the wishes to the extent you are financially able. Please do not wrap the presents, in order to allow the child’s guardian or parent to participate in preparing the packages. Donations of wrapping paper, tape and bows are appreciated.

If possible, please package your donation in a box or brown grocery bags that are easy to lift and transport.

SHELTER PROGRAM PARTICPANTS – these initiatives benefit victims who are in safe shelter during the holidays.

Toy & Gift Collection Drives to stock the Holiday Store
Two magical Holiday Stores are created within the shelter each year – a Mother’s Store and the Children’s Store. The stores are stocked with new toys and gifts generously donated by individuals, families, associations and businesses.

With this program, families currently in shelter, or families who have recently left the shelter to pursue peace for their families, are given the opportunity to select gifts for their loved ones. This gives program participants the opportunity to know the joy of giving, even during crisis.

SPECIAL NOTES: The “Holiday Gift Wish List” offers age-appropriate guidelines. We request gifts remain unwrapped, and welcome wrapping paper, tape and bow donations. Gifts for teenagers, especially electronics, are usually in short supply. Staff can offer suggestions if your organization would like to offer a quantity of “hot” gifts (example: 10-25 bikes/boom boxes/personal audio players).

**Hubbard House does not accept any toys or items that promote violence or are dangerous or violent in design or usage.

Collection Drives - Food
Emergency shelter operates a therapeutic daycare program in which breakfast, snack and lunch are served 5 days a week. Additionally, families living in shelter are provided groceries to prepare three meals daily. Please help us keep the Hubbard House pantry stocked with your donations of non-perishable food items.

Collection Drives - General Needs
Emergency shelter is home to an average of 145 adults and children during November and December. As such, personal hygiene items, household items, and clothing are always in demand. Your donations of these new items keep program participants comfortable. To see a current wish list, click here.

Table Decoration Donations
Residents eat their Thanksgiving and Holiday meals in the shelter kitchens. Donations of decorative paper napkins, plates, table coverings, and centerpieces would make for a festive meal.

Holiday Parties
We welcome business or association-sponsored parties for women and/or children in shelter. Generally, parties are scheduled for late mornings, mid-afternoons or early evenings.
