Saving Lives
Hubbard House has been providing life saving services to victims of domestic violence and their children in Northeast Florida for over 30 years. More than 25,000 victims and their children have found safe refuge in the Hubbard House shelter, and another 100,000 women, men and children have been given the tools to keep their families safe. Hubbard House gives help when it’s needed most and hope for the future--hope of peace for domestic violence victims, hope of a violence-free future for young boys and girls, and hope of a community united in its goal to end the violence in our homes.
Ensuring the Future
It is essential for Hubbard House to have the financial well-being to maintain, strengthen and expand its life-saving programs so that victims of domestic violence, now and in the future, can be empowered to find peace for themselves and their children. We are asking you to come together to fund an endowment so that Hubbard House can move steadily forward in its efforts to keep victims and their children safe.
Meeting the Challenge
Michael Ward, CEO of CSX Corporation and his wife Terry Ward, long-time supporters of Hubbard House, have committed $1 million to the Hubbard House Foundation endowment. The Wards are issuing a challenge to the community for a dollar-for-dollar match. The Challenge is effective immediately and will continue until August 31. Corporate and individual giving is crucial to this effort. The challenge will immediately allow donors to double the impact of their gifts. Michael Ward explains the reasons for this extraordinary challenge: “The services of Hubbard House require a dependable source of funding, and the endowment is a critical enabler. Terry and I know we can depend on the generosity of the community to make the goal of this challenge a reality.”
Please join in this vital community endeavor by sending a check today to Hubbard House Foundation, Inc., P.O. 4909, Jacksonville, FL 32201. Write “Ward Challenge” on the check.
