Court Advocacy

To assist you with the legal process, Hubbard House has court advocates who help victims of domestic violence obtain injunctions for protection and other legal services. While court advocates are not attorneys, they do help victims understand the legal process, provide emotional support, assist with safety planning, and provide referrals, among other things. This service is available to shelter residents as well as those who do not stay in shelter.

Intimate Violence Enhanced Services Team (InVEST)

For situations when a specific domestic violence case has been deemed highly lethal, InVEST was created to increase victim safety. InVEST is a collaboration between the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the City of Jacksonville, and Hubbard House that was formed to provide advocacy, case management, assistance, and counseling for victims. Hubbard House advocates, along with detectives, work together to help victims, provide education, and monitor batterers. Participants are identified through referrals from police reports and partnering agencies.

Military Civilian Coordinated Community Response

With the goals of enhancing victim safety and increasing offender accountability in the military, the Jacksonville civilian community along with the military came together and created a Coordinated Community Response. As part of this agreement Hubbard House offers confidential services to victims who are active duty military, retirees or intimate partners of active duty military or retirees. Advocates with knowledge of the military culture are available to assist victims with safety planning, court advocacy, provide referrals and emotional support, among other things.
